How to set a target you will not regret

Pick the reference you would actually buy, in a condition you would actually wear. A target on “a Daytona” is not a target. A target on 126500LN, excellent, with papers, is.

Look at two numbers on the reference page: the lowest ask, and the median. The low is what is available if you are flexible. The median is what a straightforward example costs when you do not want a project.

Set the alert at the price where you would pay today, not at a number you hope the market owes you. If that price is at or above the current low, Lugfolio writes the letter now, because the condition is already true. If it is underneath, the letter waits until a later snapshot meets it.

Leave room for the costs the ask does not show: shipping, import tax, a service on a watch sold as-is, and the spread you will lose if you resell. A private seller who is 8% under a dealer may be the same price once those are included.

Change the target when your mind changes. Updating it clears the previous letter so a new one can be written. The letter is addressed to the email on your account and kept in your alerts inbox.
